144. Transitioning from Weddings to Branding Photography with Abby Grace

“Good for her, not for me” - Amy Pohler
You don’t have to do everything that everyone else is doing. “I’m going to keep my eyes on my own paper because these are the goals that the Lord has set before me”

Things that someone else is doing to market their business won’t necessarily work for your business. Everyone and everyone’s businesses are so different.

Wedding and Family photography is more relational photography, when branding photography is more conceptual style of photography.

Don’t just take the “smiling at your laptop” photos. That’s a decent shot but everyone has that AND it doesn’t speak to your brand position or what you do. Incorporate behind-the-scenes aspects and the whole process of what your client does for their brand.

The 5 layers of depth in branding photos.
• Backdrop
• Background Details
• Outfit
• Foreground Details
• Pose/Action

When you can incorporate the brand visuals and vibes into all those five layers, that’s when your brand photography starts to take it to the next level.
